For geography this week Andreae class learnt all about the RNLI - ask us about it? For forest school today we thought about which emergency service was our favourite. Mr Smith then challenged us to make our own lifeboats using materials available on the field. We each had a pallet, the rule was every team member had to fit on the lifeboat. The design was up to us. We worked together as a team collecting materials and planning our lifeboat. We showed amazing teamwork by talking and listening to each other. We also showed resilience when things didn’t go to plan. We didn’t give up! We faced the problem and solved it
Today Andreae class looked at a book called flashlight by Lizi Boyd. It was a book with no words , about a boy and his torch finding nocturnal animals. We had a great time making up our own narrative to go with the pictures. Mrs Oliver gave us some sentences but they were all muddled up. As a class team we ordered the sentences in the correct order. We were placed into groups of 3 and acted out our sentences. As a class we put our acting together and preformed for Mrs.Oliver she was very pleased with our performance.
Andreae class have enjoyed learning how to measure accurately and cut wood carefully using a hacksaw. We can't wait to use what we have learnt to make models of beach huts later this term. Ask us what our top 3 tips of using a hacksaw are!
To launch our learning quest, Dinosaur Planet, Andreae class went on a dinosaur hunt. We were very excited to find lots of dinosaurs around the garden and couldn't believe it when we found a dinosaur egg too!! We have thought carefully about what might be inside and made nests to that the egg is kept safe. We can't wait to see if it hatches!
