Within our school we have an Assessment and Resourced Provision (ARP) which we host on behalf of Hampshire County Council. This provision is for 10 pupils aged between 4 and 7 years who will be in either Year R, Year 1 or Year 2. They are supported by three members of staff – Mrs Ayers (class teacher), Mrs James (teaching assistant) and Miss Sellen (teaching assistant). The class is called Alborough Class (after the author Jez Alborough). You can see more information about the Alborough Class learning environment and their current learning on the Alborough Class Page.
Whilst in the Assessment and Resourced provision, the children’s needs will be assessed and individual educational programmes and provision will be provided for each child. Other agencies such as Health, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy may be consulted and contribute to the children’s programmes or provision.
An aim of the Assessment and Resourced Provision will be to integrate children in the mainstream classes within the Academy wherever possible. The extent of integration will vary from individual child to individual child over time. Such integration will be detailed as part of that child’s individual educational plan.
It is anticipated that most children in the Assessment and Resourced Provision will remain there until integration into their local school. There will, however, be some children who will need to move on to a special school or other specialist resourced provision attached to a mainstream school.
Admissions to our Assessment and Resourced Provision are decided by the SEN Service at Winchester. For additional information on how to apply for a place, please read our Admission Policy for Development Assessment and Resourced Provision.
Visits to our Assessment and Resourced Provision are welcome; please make an appointment through our Academy Office.
