St Columba is a special place, supported by a highly committed, passionate and dedicated team who work tirelessly to ensure every child is known, valued and supported to flourish. Rooted in love, hope and respect, our school serves a diverse and vibrant community and provides an inclusive, nurturing environment in which children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

Our vision, Growing Futures Rooted in Love, Hope and Respect, underpins everything we do. It shapes our curriculum, our relationships and our expectations, ensuring that pupils are supported academically, socially and emotionally. We believe that children learn best when they feel a strong sense of belonging, when their voices are heard, and when high expectations are matched with care, compassion and understanding.

We place great importance on working in partnership with parents and carers. We recognise that when school and home work closely together, with a shared commitment to what is best for each child, children thrive. Open communication, mutual trust and a strong sense of community are central to our approach, and we are proud of the positive relationships we have built with families.

Inclusion is at the heart of St Columba. We work closely with families and external professionals to ensure that children with additional needs receive the right support at the right time. Our proactive and relational approach means that every child is encouraged to succeed and to develop confidence, independence and resilience.

We are also passionate about enriching children’s experiences beyond the classroom. Through trips, visitors, sport, the arts, collective worship and opportunities to serve others, we help children to develop character, curiosity and a strong moral compass, preparing them well for the next stage of their education and for life beyond primary school.

I am incredibly proud to lead St Columba and to work alongside such a dedicated staff team, supportive families and a strong wider community. We are always happy to welcome visitors and would encourage you to come and see our school in action.
