A very warm welcome to our website and school.

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to St Columba CE Primary School as its new Head of School.

Although I am new to the St Columba community, I have already been struck by the warmth, kindness and sense of belonging that make this school such a special place. From the children and staff to the families, parish and wider community, it is clear that St Columba is a school built on strong relationships and a shared commitment to helping every child flourish.

Our vision, Growing Futures Rooted in Love, Hope and Respect, lies at the heart of everything we do. These values are evident in the way children care for one another, the dedication of our staff and the support shown by our families. As I begin my journey at St Columba, I am honoured to be part of a community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

I firmly believe that children achieve their greatest success when they feel safe, happy and confident. At St Columba, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where all children are supported academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. We celebrate each child's unique gifts and work hard to ensure that every pupil feels a genuine sense of belonging.

Strong partnerships with parents and carers are central to our success. I am passionate about building positive relationships with families and believe that when school and home work together, children thrive. I look forward to getting to know our families and hearing their hopes and aspirations for their children as we continue to work together in support of their learning and development.

What excites me most about St Columba is the opportunity to build upon the school's many strengths while continuing to ensure the very best experiences and outcomes for every child. Whether through high-quality teaching, enriching experiences beyond the classroom, opportunities for leadership and service, or the strong faith life of the school, we want every child to leave St Columba with wonderful memories, a love of learning and the confidence to embrace the future.

As I begin this new chapter, I do so with a deep sense of gratitude for the warm welcome I have received and with a commitment to serving this wonderful school community. I am very much looking forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, governors and parish to ensure that St Columba continues to be a place where children grow in faith, flourish in learning and develop the knowledge, skills and values needed for life.
