The Parable of the Lost Sheep emphasises God’s love and care for each individual. Jesus tells this story in the Gospel of Luke:
“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbours together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’” (Luke 15:4-6, NIV) 1
The story of the Good Samaritan teaches us about respect and kindness towards others. Jesus shares this parable in the Gospel of Luke:
“But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.” (Luke 10:33-34, NIV) 2
Noah’s Ark is a story of hope and new beginnings. God instructs Noah to build an ark to save his family and the animals from the flood:
“So God said to Noah, ‘This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.’” (Genesis 9:17, NIV) 3
